How I serve Frisco

Managed IT Services & IT Support in Frisco, TX

Frisco, in Collin County along the Dallas North Tollway and the Sam Rayburn Tollway, has been one of the fastest-growing cities in the country for years, and the business side shows it. New medical and dental buildings, new office developments, new retail with offices above, and new homes full of people who need dentists, doctors, lawyers, realtors, mortgage brokers, tutors and accountants nearby. Most of those businesses are small, new, and running on technology that was bought in a hurry during the build-out. That is where I come in.

I am Anthony Omini, the owner of Cross River Tech, a small IT company based in Dallas, and the person you deal with directly. I support Frisco businesses remotely first, because a secure remote session solves most problems faster than a drive up the Tollway, and I come onsite by appointment when the job needs hands: new equipment, a failed switch, cabling in a suite that is still under construction. Because I plan every job and stay your contact, the person who wired your office is the same person who answers when the Wi-Fi acts up a year later.

This page covers what I do for small businesses in Frisco, why dental offices in particular call me, how cabling works in a city where so much is brand new, and what to expect after hours. If you want to skip ahead, call (214) 612-7080.

IT support companies in Frisco for small business: what an owner-led company offers that a big MSP does not

A lot of IT companies serve Frisco from offices around the metroplex, and most of them are built for accounts with a hundred seats. A Frisco business with eight people and a printer that keeps disappearing gets the junior technician and the ticket queue. With Cross River Tech you get me, with over 15 years of IT experience across many industries and global organizations, planning the work and answering the phone, with my team handling the routine monitoring and updates behind me.

My managed IT services for a Frisco office include operating system and application updates for computers and servers, unlimited remote support with onsite visits at no extra charge when remote cannot fix it, antivirus management and email security, managed backup and disaster recovery, and management of your internet, router, firewall, switches, access points and printers. Microsoft 365 and Google Workspace administration is part of it too: licenses, mailboxes, shared drives, security settings.

It is priced per user per month or per device per month, month-to-month, cancel anytime, and quoted after a short conversation. Many Frisco businesses are young enough that they are choosing an IT provider for the first time. If that is you, questions to ask before hiring a managed service provider will save you some regret, whoever you end up choosing.

Dental office IT support in Frisco

Frisco has an unusual number of dental practices for a city its size, and many of them are new: general dentistry, pediatric dentistry, orthodontics, oral surgery and specialty practices in medical buildings along the Tollway, Preston Road and the Sam Rayburn Tollway. A dental office is one of the most demanding small-business IT environments there is, and it is one of the industries I built my practice around. My dental practice IT page goes into detail; here is the Frisco-specific short version.

  • Practice management and imaging. Dentrix, Eaglesoft, Open Dental and the imaging software that goes with your sensors and pan units all depend on a stable local network and, usually, a server in the office. I support the software vendors' requirements and keep the server and workstations current.
  • Operatory reliability. A workstation that drops off the network mid-exam is a patient-facing problem. Most of these come down to cabling, switch ports or power, and they are exactly the kind of thing a new build-out gets wrong.
  • HIPAA duties. Encrypted devices, access controls, email security, tested backups, and documentation that helps you meet HIPAA requirements and answer a cyber-insurance questionnaire honestly. I say helps you meet, because nobody can promise compliance for you.
  • Phones and scheduling. A front desk that cannot take calls is an empty schedule. I support desk phones and VoIP systems alongside the computers so there is one number to call.

Opening a new practice in Frisco? I do the cabling, the IT room and the network before you open, then support it afterward. Opening a dental practice: IT, cabling and network setup walks through the order things need to happen in.

New construction in Frisco: cabling and IT rooms done before the drywall closes

So much of Frisco is new that most of my cabling work there is in buildings that did not exist a couple of years earlier: medical office buildings, mixed-use developments with offices above retail, and standalone suites in office parks along the Tollway. New construction is the easiest time to do data cabling properly and the most expensive time to skip it.

Here is what I do on a Frisco build-out:

  1. Plan the drops with you and your contractor. Desks, operatories or exam rooms, printers, wall phones, TVs, ceiling access points, cameras and door controllers. Extra drops now cost very little; extra drops after the drywall is up cost a lot.
  2. Run Cat6 from the IT room to every drop while the walls are open, in the path the contractor approves.
  3. Terminate, test and label every run at both ends, so any electrician or future IT person can read the patch panel without guessing.
  4. Build the IT room: rack, patch panel, switch, firewall and access points, plus a UPS so a brief power flicker does not reboot everything.
  5. Coordinate the internet so the circuit is live before you move in, which in a brand-new building can take longer than anyone expects.

If you are deciding between cable types for a new space, Cat6 vs Cat6a vs fiber for an office build-out explains when the more expensive option is worth it and when it is not.

Remote first from Dallas, onsite in Frisco by appointment

I am based in Dallas, and Frisco is at the northern end of my regular onsite range, up the Dallas North Tollway. That has a practical consequence I want to be upfront about: I lean on remote support even more for Frisco clients than for offices near me, and I plan onsite trips carefully so each one covers as much as possible.

Remote support handles the large majority of day-to-day issues: logins, email, software errors, printers, slow machines, Wi-Fi settings, firewall and switch configuration, backups, updates. I install a small agent on each computer and connect only with your permission. You usually watch the fix happen on your own screen.

Onsite visits to Frisco are by appointment. For a genuine outage, meaning hardware has failed and the office cannot work, I come the same day whenever I can. For everything else, new computers, a Wi-Fi upgrade, a rack cleanup, I schedule a visit and bundle the tasks so the trip is worth your money and my time. For managed clients, onsite visits are included at no extra charge when remote cannot fix the issue. For hourly clients, onsite is $150 per hour during business hours with a one-hour minimum, and I tell you honestly before I drive up whether the trip is necessary.

Frisco businesses that outgrow their first office

Growth is the normal state of a Frisco business. A two-chair dental practice adds operatories. A real estate or mortgage office hires and needs a bigger suite. A small company opens a second location in McKinney or Plano. Each of those is an IT project, and I handle them through my office move and new office setup service so nobody in your office has to become the project manager.

For a move within Frisco, that means cabling the new suite while you are still in the old one, ordering internet early, then disconnecting, moving and reconnecting computers, phones and printers over a weekend. For a second location, it means designing the new site so it shares your email, files and phone system with the first one, and so I can support both from the same place. Businesses that want a fuller picture of that process can read opening a second office: IT setup.

After-hours IT support in Frisco

Remote support is available 24/7/365, including holidays, and after-hours rates apply. A Frisco dental office whose server stops responding on a Saturday morning, or an office with a ransomware scare on a Sunday night, calls the same number and reaches me. Hourly after-hours work is $150 per hour remote and $225 per hour onsite, one-hour minimum.

Because Frisco offices tend to have early starts, especially in healthcare, I often do planned maintenance in the evening or before open: server updates, migrations, firewall replacements and cutovers for a move. You know in advance when things will be down and when they will be back. If you have an emergency right now, call (214) 612-7080. If you are just planning, the same number works.

Questions from Frisco businesses

Do you come onsite in Frisco, or is your support remote?

Both, with remote first. Most problems are solved in a secure remote session while you watch. Frisco is at the northern end of my regular onsite range, so I schedule visits by appointment and bundle tasks into each trip. For a real outage I come the same day whenever I can, and onsite visits are included at no extra charge for managed clients when remote cannot fix the problem.

What happens if my Frisco office has a problem after hours or on a weekend?

Remote support is available 24/7/365, including holidays, with after-hours rates applied. You call the same number and reach me directly. For hourly clients, after-hours work is $150 per hour remote and $225 per hour onsite with a one-hour minimum. Managed clients are covered by their agreement. Most planned maintenance for Frisco offices happens in the evening or before opening so patients and customers never notice.

Do you support dental offices in Frisco?

Yes, dental practices are one of my main industries. I support Dentrix, Eaglesoft, Open Dental and the imaging software behind your sensors, keep the server and operatory workstations stable, secure and back up patient data in a way that helps you meet HIPAA requirements, and support the phones as well. For a new practice I do the cabling and IT room before you open.

Can you cable a brand-new suite in Frisco before it opens?

Yes. I plan drop locations with you and your contractor, run Cat6 from the IT room to every drop while the walls are open, terminate and test each run, and set up the rack, patch panel, switch, firewall and access points. I also coordinate the internet circuit early, because in a brand-new Frisco building that installation can take longer than anyone expects.

Is managed IT worth it for a small Frisco business, or should I pay hourly?

It depends on how much you rely on your systems. A business that loses money every hour its network is down usually does better on a monthly plan that includes updates, security, backups and unlimited remote support. A business with three computers and occasional questions is often fine on hourly help at $100 per hour remote. I will tell you which one fits after a short conversation.
